Steven Meyer is a Madison, Wisconsin musician dedicated to sharing the elegance and sophistication of solo fingerstyle guitar. Steven Meyer’s guitar repertoire spans a world of diverse influences and includes American standards, Brazilian and Spanish classics, Caribbean and Celtic ballads, Baroque music foundations and surprising new originals compositions. Steven delights in presenting a varied, interesting and fresh solo guitar program for the audience.
Steven's new album release is entitled, "Solo Guitar Arenas". Released in October, 2021, and as the title implies, the musical genres featured on “Solo Guitar Arenas” include concert level classical pieces, Latin fusion, popular and traditional tunes, plus Steven’s original guitar compositions.
Prior to Solo Guitar Arenas, Steven released “Guitar Au Naturel” in 2018 and "Choice Selections for Solo Guitar in 2006. Steven Meyer is a solo guitarist performing in the Madison, WI area whose repertoire is a creative blend of different music genres that are connected by history and musical styles. Steven’s solo fingerstyle guitar approach is the culmination of many artistic influences in this growing musical genre, including artists such as Earl Klugh, Tommy Emmanuel, Ralph Towner, and Chet Atkins, to classical composers as diverse as H. Villa Lobos, and Johann Sebastian Bach.

Fingerstyle Guitar Journey
Originally from Milwaukee, WI, Steven's professional guitar journey actually began while stationed for two years in the military in Oahu, Hawaii. Returning to Milwaukee, Steven pursued academic studies at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, including music theory and guitar studies with prominent Milwaukee area guitar instructors, including jazz guitarist, Jack Grassel. Steven continued to perform for engagements of all kinds, both in rock bands and jazz groups as a sideman, and as a solo performer. Upon relocating to Madison, WI, Steven's experience performing Latin Jazz and Bossa Nova grew as a result extended engagements at prominent Madison, WI area venues. Steven released his first album, “Choice Selections for Solo Guitar” in 2005. Arranged by Steven Meyer, the collection represents solo fingerstyle guitar versatility and creative options, with varied selections that range from the contemporary to the classical. Steven released his second album “Guitar Au Naturel”, in 2018. On “Guitar Au Naturel”, Meyer puts his unique approach on well-known tunes such as “Blue Eyes,” “Blackbird,” “Pipeline” and “Harlem Nocturne,” plus classical pieces by J.S. Bach.
